Linear Lighting

Our client wanted to make a real feature of a prominent area of their showroom, using a bespoke, smart lighting solution.

The brief was to make the areas visually interesting from within the Showroom, with flexible lighting to highlight vehicles on display.

The client also wanted the lighting solution to further enhance the visual impact of vehicles visible within the showroom from the external adjacent roads, and to draw focus at night.

Project Brief

  • A smart, background lighting solution that could adapt to changing vehicle displays, including colours of cars.
  • Needs to be able to illuminate the Mercedes Star at night.
  • Not to be overwhelming in the showroom, but powerful enough to make a difference even in daylight conditions.
  • To be visible at night and draw attention to displayed cars, without being a distraction on nearby roads.
  • To be more energy efficient than the current installation.

Case Study

We needed to think outside of the box on this, given there are vast glazed area’s in the showroom, so natural light levels in the daytime would be high. This was a particular issue when trying to illuminate the Mercedes Star, given there was such a small surface area to capture.

We installed a powerful LED lighting solution with smart, DMX encoded lighting control allowing the client to change the colour of the lighting to highlight individual car colours. The lighting blended into the background of the showroom, but is powerful enough to be seen both in the daytime, and at night.

To top it all off, there were significant savings to be made from the LED upgrade, given these are far more efficient to run.
